Central Russia: a crumpet on a bed
In the central part of Russia, users are more likely to recall words related to home, household items, and everyday trivia. Poke around with a milestone: as they say in the Urals
In the Urals, regionalism is associated with the use of Old Russian expressions or borrowings from other languages. A washcloth is called a washcloth here: the word goes back to the Old Russian word and originally meant a soft bundle that is used for washing. A sponge can be rubbed, rubbed, or cleaned off; the noun comes from imitating the sound when a washcloth rubs against a surface. Another expressive word is "zyurgat", or "yelling", that is, it is noisy to eat hot food. According to one version, its origin is connected with the Turkic words "sorpa" or "shorpa", meaning broth.
Far East: go to Chifanka for a doll
In the Far East, regionalisms often reflect proximity to Asian countries and the culture of fast snacks. Kuksa is the name of instant noodles here: the word goes back to the Korean dish kuksu — thin wheat noodles in cold or hot broth. A chifanka is a small Chinese cafe or snack bar; the name is associated with the Chinese expression chī fàn, which means "to eat, to take food."
"Social networks have become a natural environment for regionalism: here a person speaks almost the same way as in real life, reproducing oral speech and not smoothing out local speech features. Such words work as markers of recognition — they help to immediately identify a place, cultural experience, and a sense of community," the linguists of the <url> portal note.
