Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' summit in New Delhi, informed him of Russia's readiness to assist in resolving the conflict in the Middle East. This was reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry on May 14.

"The foreign ministers discussed the progress of the negotiation process thoroughly and in a confidential manner..."Lavrov reiterated Russia's readiness to provide good offices to the parties in the search for and implementation of mutually acceptable solutions," the statement said.

It is also noted that the Russian side stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and the "fragile truce" that has developed in recent weeks. The Russian Foreign Minister also called for preventing the disruption of political and diplomatic efforts to work out a comprehensive and comprehensive agreement between Iran and the United States that would pave the way for a long-term and stable normalization of the situation in the region.
