The superstructure was installed on the Volokolamsk tram overpass in Moscow
The installation of a new superstructure has been completed on the Volokolamsk tram overpass. This was announced on Thursday, May 14, at the Moscow City Economy complex.
According to experts, the structure was mounted using the longitudinal-transverse slide method — it was assembled separately, and then moved and mounted on supports, the Moscow City News agency reports.
Now specialists are laying rails and sleepers, after which they will deal with sidewalks, lighting and a contact network. It is planned to complete the overhaul of the overpass by the end of the year. It will connect the Airport and Savyolovsky districts with Koptevo, and will have a wavy shape. The length of the overpass will be 450 m, it will connect the streets of 8 Marta and Priorova, writes "Moscow 24".
The Volokolamsk tram overpass, located in the Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo area, was built back in 1907 and was in a pre-emergency condition by the beginning of work. The last major renovation was carried out there more than 50 years ago.
