Pavel Khoroshev, a neurologist, told how office workers can flex their muscles without getting up from their chairs.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, May 14, the expert recalled that even with sedentary work, it is important to move regularly. According to him, isometric gymnastics can be a good option — simple exercises that can be performed right at the desk, almost unnoticed by others.

The doctor advised every 40 minutes to strain the muscles of the arms and chest, press the palms of your hands on each other or perform resistance exercises. It is also useful to lift the body on a chair, resting your hands on the seat — this helps to relieve the spine.

The expert noted that such exercises strengthen muscles and help to spend calories without increasing muscle mass. In addition, he recommended that you monitor your diet and drink enough water — about two liters per day.

In April, ophthalmologist Oksana Kuznetsova warned about the threat to vision due to long-term screen work. According to her, stress, lack of sleep, and non-compliance with work and rest routines also increase the risk of developing dry eye syndrome, computer vision syndrome, myopia, and spasm of accommodation.

In March, Evgeny Achkasov, MD, shared his opinion that the practice of industrial gymnastics should be returned to the offices. The expert noted that even a short three-minute warm–up every hour is beneficial, but it is better to get up from the table and devote five to seven minutes to gymnastics, writes RT.

At the same time, it was reported that free Moscow sports sections were organized in Moscow for citizens with mental health problems. They can regularly practice zhulbak, novus, recreational gymnastics, swimming and football, the Moscow City News agency reports.

In October, doctor Svetlana Malinovskaya advised me to do a warm-up in the office every hour and a half. According to her, many hours of sedentary work can lead to stagnation of blood and disruption of blood supply, which causes headaches, hypertension and sleep disorders, notes 360.ru .

Prior to that, gastroenterologist Alsu Galeeva warned about the risk of an "office belly" due to an incorrect fit. According to her, when sitting for a long time, a "stressful pose" is formed: a person slouches, tucks his shoulders and often sits cross-legged. She noted that this position weakens the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, which can visually add to the belly and worsen well-being.
