A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to Kiev's terrorist attacks on civilian targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike with high-precision long-range land, air and sea-based weapons, including aeroballistic hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, attack drones on enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, military airfields, fuel and transport infrastructure facilities used in in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The southern group of troops liberated the settlement of Nikolaevka in the DPR. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 115 militants, an armored combat vehicle, 12 vehicles and five artillery pieces.

In addition, the North group of forces improved the tactical situation and defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Khoten, Malaya Rybitsa, Zapselye, Bachevsk and Kondratovka, Sumy region, Udy, Ukrainka, Ryasnoye, Volokhovka and Chaikovka, Kharkiv region.

"The units of the Center group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. They defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized, jaeger brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and two National Guard brigades in the areas of settlements <...> of the Donetsk People's Republic, <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 300 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated the sites of assembly, storage, launch of drones, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 152 districts.

In turn, the air defense systems shot down a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 390 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 145,958 UAVs, 661 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,288 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,718 multiple rocket launchers, 34,917 field artillery and mortars, 61,567 pieces of special vehicles.
