Ampoules, masks, oils, and expensive shampoos can make hair more shiny, smooth, and manageable, but they can't stop it from falling out. Stylist Igor Levchenko warned about this on Thursday, May 14.

"High-quality care only works with what has already grown: it moisturizes the length, removes fluffiness, and helps with dry scalp. But if the hair falls out, the cause is most often inside the body," the expert explained in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

According to Levchenko, in most cases, severe hair loss is associated with androgenetic alopecia, hormonal changes after childbirth, chronic stress, iron deficiency, vitamin D, protein, zinc, or thyroid diseases. At the same time, cosmetics are not able to penetrate deep into the skin and affect the hair follicle, since the living part of the hair is located under the skin, the stylist emphasized.

Levchenko said that craftsmen often notice alarm signals from clients. Among them are uniform thinning of hair throughout the head, widening of the parting, the appearance of thin "fluffy" hair, increased fragility, dullness, peeling of the scalp and nail changes.

The specialist added that sometimes improper care only makes the situation worse: aggressive cleansing can increase inflammation, and excess oils can create an environment for fungus and seborrhea.

He stressed that with active hair loss, it is important not to delay diagnosis and contact specialized specialists. First of all, it is worth checking the total blood count, ferritin, serum iron, vitamin D, B12, zinc, total protein, thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, T4), and, if necessary, sex hormones.

Vera Barkova, a trichologist and cosmetologist at Beauty Lounge Beauty Clinic, said on April 20 that there are various medical procedures to prevent hair loss, such as low-intensity laser therapy, plasma therapy and mesotherapy. 360.ru .

Spartak Kayumov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, President of the Union of Trichologists, told Izvestia on April 14 that increased stress levels, sleep disorders and concomitant diseases are becoming key factors of early baldness in young people, while the problem is increasingly affecting not only men but also women.

In turn, dermatologist Mariyat Mukhina, MD, said that the frequency of shampooing depends on individual characteristics, RT reports.
