Manturov pointed out that Sarmat was ahead of the capabilities of foreign technologies

The capabilities of the Sarmat heavy liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile, created by Russian scientists, are several years ahead of foreign competitors. This was stated on May 14 by Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, in a conversation with Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Ivanov.

"In terms of volume and energy capacity, in fact, in terms of combat reserves, this is several times higher than Western analogues. <...> As for the technologies that are used to achieve the goals, in our opinion, according to the information that we have, we are at least a few years ahead of our foreign partners," Manturov explained.

Speaking about the development of technology in general, he noted that the Russian Federation is focused on achieving its own competencies in many industrial sectors, in particular, in mechanical engineering.

"First of all, these are aviation and space technologies. Engine building, modern materials used in mechanical engineering, modern alloys, and other solutions that allow today to ensure the development of a wide range of industries based on such intersectoral, interdepartmental cooperation," he explained.

At the same time, Manturov stressed that Russia retains the opportunity to cooperate with friendly countries and partners interested in developing mutually beneficial relations to achieve maximum economic impact.

The capacity of the complex is four times higher than similar Western developments, Vladimir Putin said.

The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Sergei Karakaev, announced the successful test launch of the heavy intercontinental ballistic missile Sarmat on May 12. The test results confirmed the correctness of the design and technological solutions, as well as the compliance of the missile system with the specified characteristics.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the Sarmat is the most powerful missile system in the world. According to the head of state, the total capacity of Sarmat is more than four times higher than that of any Western analogues.
