Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with both heads of regions before the resignations of the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov and the head of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz. This was announced on May 14 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Naturally, as heads of regions, such important regions, we were in constant contact with the head of state. Of course, there was communication, yes," the press secretary of the head of state said at a briefing.
