Changan unveils updated Uni-V liftback in Russia

Changan has announced the launch of the updated Uni-V liftback on the Russian market. The key change to the model was a significant increase in dynamic performance, achieved thanks to the new powertrain, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on May 14. The price of the model and the start date of sales have not yet been specified.

The previous 1.5-liter 181-horsepower engine gave way to a two-liter gasoline turbo engine with a cast-iron cylinder block with a capacity of 235 hp (390 Nm). The Aisin 8-speed hydromechanical "automatic" is paired with the engine. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 6.8 seconds compared to 7.5 seconds for the previous model.

The updated Uni-V is equipped with an active rear spoiler, which automatically rises when speeding up and, as noted in the company, increases downforce, increasing directional stability. The dimensions of the liftback are 4740 mm in length, 1838 mm in width and 1430 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2750 mm. Ground clearance is 152 mm. The trunk volume is 465 liters, and when the rear seats are folded, it reaches 1000 liters.

The cabin has a sports steering wheel, aluminum steering wheel lobes, a black ceiling and suede trim elements. For the Russian market, the model has received an expanded package of "warm" options, which includes heating of all seats, steering wheel, windshield and rear windows.

The equipment includes six airbags, a built-in DVR, a telematics system with Yandex services, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electric trunk lid, and a full-size spare tire.

Currently, the pre-reform Changan Uni-V is offered in Russia in three trim levels at a price of 3.19 million to 3.28 million rubles.

Earlier that day, it was reported that the Geely Coolray crossover, which is returning to the Russian market in an updated form, will go on sale in one package at a price starting from 2.89 million rubles, excluding special programs. The model will be available at dealers in the near future.
