A U.S. Secret Service agent with a gun was not allowed into the Temple of Heaven in China

Security guards in Beijing have banned a US Secret Service agent from escorting American journalists with weapons on the territory of the Temple of Heaven. This was announced by the White House press pool on May 14.

"The entrance of the pool to the temple complex was delayed for almost half an hour due to a lengthy and increasingly tense discussion between American and Chinese officials after the Chinese security service refused to allow a Secret Service agent accompanying the pool to enter the temple grounds with weapons," the statement said.
