Medvedev called Yermak's case in Ukraine a public civil execution
The case of the former head of the office of the Ukrainian leader, Andrei Ermak, has become a public civil execution in the country, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council and chairman of the United Russia party, came to this conclusion on May 14.

On May 14, a court in Ukraine decided to take Ermak into custody for 60 days with the possibility of posting bail of 140 million hryvnias (about 3.1 million dollars). The defense of the former head of the office of the Ukrainian leader will appeal the court's decision as a preventive measure. Ermak also noted that he does not have the money to make a deposit of 140 million hryvnias ($ 3.1 million).
Yermak and five other defendants were charged with corruption on May 12. The former head of the presidential office, commenting on the situation, said that he considers what is happening unfounded. The correspondent of the Welt television channel, Christoph Wanner, said on the same day that the alleged "attacks" on Ermak could be regarded as an attack on Zelensky himself.
The Telegraph newspaper added that the Ukrainian leader was in an awkward position because of his former assistant. And Politico announced the beginning of a real nightmare for Zelensky, who is trying to accelerate his country's accession to the European Union (EU).
