Experts from the Call Me Back project said that fraudsters are increasingly using the digital habits of children with bank cards and access to banking applications to access family finances. This was reported on the official portal of the capital on May 14. mos.ru .

"According to the survey, parents do not always control the actions of their children: in every fifth family where a child uses a card, he does it on his own and does not inform his relatives about his expenses. <...> Detailed instructions on how to build a confidential conversation and protect finances are collected on the page of the project "Call me back". You can also find useful articles there on how to protect yourself from various types of fraud," the press service of the Moscow Department of Information Technology (ITT) said.

It is noted that children are increasingly using bank cards on their own, and in some families, parents do not control their expenses. According to the survey, a significant proportion of teenagers have access to banking applications, and more than half have their own cards.

Data is also provided on the methods of parental control: some families monitor transactions through card linking, notifications and limits, but almost a fifth of children use cards without informing adults.

The schemes used by scammers are described separately: calls on behalf of law enforcement agencies with messages about an alleged threat to parents, fake winnings in games and from bloggers, as well as involving teenagers in dropping and distributing malicious applications that give access to devices.

The publication emphasizes that the main protection is a confidential conversation in the family and early education of the child in digital security rules so that he can promptly report suspicious situations.

On April 21, the Central Bank of Russia announced the introduction of an additional check when considering applications for the exclusion of information from the database on fraudulent transactions.

It is specified that when processing such requests and sending requests to banks, the credit institution is obliged to contact the client on whose request the information was entered into the database.
