Fico criticized EU politicians over the plan to abandon energy resources from Russia

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused Brussels of pushing Europe towards an energy policy that would force the continent to pay more for Russian fuel while becoming increasingly dependent on the United States. His words are conveyed by Hlavný Denník.

The Prime Minister expressed outrage over the fact that some countries continue to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia, despite statements about the termination of purchases.

"It turns out that we can't, but France can?" he stressed.

In addition, the Slovak politician warned that the refusal of energy supplies from Russia would only increase Europe's dependence on the United States. He explained that the United States would resell to the EU countries at a higher price the volumes that they themselves would purchase from Moscow.
