Pregnancy planning requires at least six basic examinations, including ultrasounds, infection tests, and genetic tests. On May 14, the obstetrician-gynecologist Kristina Tsaturova told about this. "Газете.Ru ".

"The main methods of examination for married couples are: Ultrasound of the pelvic organs, determination of blood type and Rh factor, determination of sexually transmitted infections, determination of particularly dangerous infections (HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, gonorrhea), genetic examination and general examination (blood, urine, fluorography)," the doctor said.

According to the specialist, it is recommended to start preparing for pregnancy at least six months in advance. During this period, it is important to give up bad habits, normalize sleep, nutrition and consult with specialized doctors to draw up an individual examination plan.

"Men also need to undergo a general examination (blood, urine, fluorography), take a spermogram and a MAR test, as well as, if necessary, undergo an ultrasound scan of the scrotum. In case of detected pathologies, consult with a therapist and get the opinions of related specialists," Tsaturova noted.

Separately, the doctor emphasized the importance of assessing reproductive health in women over 35 years of age, since ovarian reserve and the likelihood of pregnancy decrease at this age.

"It is recommended to take this test on the second or third day of the menstrual cycle. Normal AMH levels in women over 35 years of age range from 1.5 to 4 ng/ml. It allows you to assess the chances of conception and at low values it is recommended to think about pregnancy in the near future," concluded Tsaturova.
