An investigation is underway in Olenegorsk (Murmansk Region) into the deaths of a woman and a man as a result of a fire in an apartment building. This is reported by the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The fire occurred late in the evening on May 11 in a five-storey building on Stroitelnaya Street, 39. According to rescuers, personal belongings and various furniture were burning in a one-room apartment.
The fire killed a 48-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man who lived in the apartment. The exact cause of their death will be determined during a forensic medical examination, Bi-port news agency writes.
The preliminary cause of the fire in the UK is called a violation of fire safety requirements. Upon the fact of the incident, the agency is conducting a pre-investigation check, based on the results of which a decision will be made to institute a criminal case.
On May 4, a fire broke out in a private house in the village of Lenskoye in the Turinsky district of the Sverdlovsk region, which killed a family of five. Only a 14—year-old girl, whose father died in an accident three weeks ago, managed to survive.
