Netanyahu secretly visited the UAE during the conflict with Iran
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the war with Iran. This was announced on May 13 by the Office of the Prime Minister.
"In the midst of Operation Lion's Roar, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly visited the United Arab Emirates and met with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed," the agency wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The report indicates that the visit led to a breakthrough in bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper said on May 11 that the UAE had carried out covert military strikes on Iranian territory. It is noted that the UAE is armed with Western-made fighter jets and surveillance systems. According to the newspaper, Iranian oil refineries were among the targets for the strikes.
On April 14, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, demanded compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan for their participation in the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. He pointed out that these countries violated international law by joining aggressive actions.
