The elections of the governors of the Belgorod Region and the Bryansk region will be held on a single voting day on September 20. This was reported to TASS on May 13 in the election commissions of the regions.

It is specified that the election commission of the Belgorod region confirmed that voting on the election of the head of the region will take place on September 20. A similar date has been set for the election of the governor of the Bryansk region.

A single voting day is traditionally held in the regions of Russia in autumn. During this period, elections of governors, deputies of regional parliaments and municipal authorities are held.

The head of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov resigned from the post of governor of the region on this day. It was clarified that Alexander Shuvaev would temporarily serve as the head of the region. The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, also resigned at his own request. By the same decree, Egor Kovalchuk was appointed acting Governor of the Bryansk region.
