Director Tsybin noted the memorable energy of TV presenter Molchanov
TV presenter Vladimir Molchanov had a fantastic energy that made its way through the screen and reached every viewer. This was announced to Izvestia on May 13 by director Ivan Tsybin.
"He had absolute nobility in everything. Only Molchanov could communicate with the audience with such respect and delicacy. The current generation of TV presenters needs to learn what Vladimir Kirillovich did in the frame," Tsybin said.
According to him, Molchanov treated people with respect not only on the screen, but also in life. This was also evident when the director was making a documentary about him.
"We came to his cottage and found ourselves in some kind of phenomenal aura of warmth and fantastic kindness. The first thing that shocked me at this cottage was that there was a huge sign "Villa Consuelo" above the gate. He named the cottage after his wife and was very proud of it. They were a unique couple, like lovebirds," Tsybin said.
The director also said that Molchanov was in Israel about a year ago and his visit came at a time when the conflict in the Gaza Strip was escalating. It was impossible to leave the country because of the closed airport, and then local television crews suggested that Molchanov remove the program cycle.
"And he sat under the bombing, under the sirens, and recorded these broadcasts, going down to the shelter with everyone. And he told me that he was very grateful to these guys because they extended his TV life. <...> And I am sure that they have extended his life in principle. After all, when a person is needed, when he works, he lives," Tsybin added.
Molchanov's death at the age of 75 became known on the night of May 13. Oncologist Evgeny Cheremushkin said that he had previously undergone a liver transplant due to cancer.
Sports commentator Georgy Cherdantsev, in turn, noted that Molchanov never showed confusion in the frame and was able to keep his face under any circumstances. Documentary filmmaker Ivan Tsybin added that he was the mind, honor and conscience of Russian television.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the creative path of journalist and TV presenter Molchanov was associated with the last years of the USSR and the first steps of the new Russian television. He stressed that the name of Molchanov, who was a teacher, innovator and documentarian, is forever inscribed in the history of Russian media.
