Demand for used crossovers and SUVs in Russia increased by 27% in a year

According to the results of January – April 2026, the demand for crossovers and SUVs with mileage in Russia increased by 27% compared to the same period last year, and the average price of such a car was 2.25 million rubles. Avito Auto experts told Izvestia about this on May 14.

Renault showed the most noticeable increase in demand among the brands: the number of requests in the secondary market increased by 47%. Also among the leaders were Nissan (38%), Hyundai (37%), Kia (36%) and Chery (35%).

Among the models, the Mazda CX‑5 crossover topped the rating in terms of demand dynamics (+52%). Renault Duster and Volkswagen Tiguan rounded out the top three (+48% and +46%, respectively). High results were also shown by Nissan X‑Trail and Qashqai, Mitsubishi Outlander, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sportage, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Hyundai Creta.

Over the past year, Toyota, Lada, BMW, Nissan and Hyundai cars have been the most popular in the SUV segment, leading in the number of views and requests from customers. Lada 4x4 (Niva) is the leader in the model rating with an average cost of 406 thousand rubles, Chevrolet Niva (480 thousand rubles) and Toyota RAV4 (2.2 million rubles).

"In April, the demand for off-road vehicles was 36% higher than a year ago. The demand for such cars is fueled by the growing popularity of autotourism: according to our latest survey, almost half of Russians prefer to travel around the country by car, and crossovers and SUVs are perfect for this. In addition, there are many models of different price categories on the secondary market — from the affordable Lada 4x4 to the premium Toyota Land Cruiser and BMW X5," said Andrey Kovalev, director of the Used Cars department at Avito.

For Chinese—made cars, this figure remained at 2.26 million rubles, while for other foreign cars it was 2.42 million rubles (+1.2%).
