ROSSETI and MIPT discussed promising technologies for the electric grid complex

Andrey Ryumin, head of the ROSSETI Group, and Dmitry Livanov, Rector of the University, discussed the creation of an end-to-end technology transfer system and the use of the scientific potential of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) for the development of the electric power industry. The meeting was held as part of a working visit to the Dolgoprudny campus.

The possibilities of applying MIPT's competencies to solve urgent tasks of the grid complex are considered, from the creation of SNES and equipment for DC power lines to the large—scale introduction of unmanned vehicles and modern digital complexes. A separate topic was the partnership of MIPT with the scientific and technical center Rosseti and the Intellectual Laboratory of Digital Networks of the company.

"The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology is one of the world's leading universities that trains highly qualified engineers. In addition, today a large innovation cluster is being formed here, combining scientific laboratories and production sites. They work in the interests of a wide variety of industries, including the electric power industry. This opens up new opportunities for cooperation between the ROSSETI Group and MIPT," Ryumin said.

Livanov noted that MIPT is the leader of Russian higher education in many key indicators, and the university is ready to "reach a new level." "We want our developments to reach the real sector of the economy faster, to turn into technologies, products and solutions that change lives. Therefore, partnerships with large industrial companies such as ROSSETI are especially important for us," the rector of the university emphasized. He added that MIPT is interested in students "working on large, applied tasks during their studies and realizing that their ideas can influence not only science, but also the development of entire industries."

The delegation of the ROSSETI Group visited the Institute of Digital Sky and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, which are part of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Representatives of the company also inspected the experimental workshop of the Metalion plant, where various types of batteries and chemical power sources are produced.
