US policy is leading Europe into a deep energy and food crisis. This was stated on May 13 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a special edition of the RT India program "India, Russia and the World."

"Europe as the birthplace of colonialism... has already lost its abilities. Now these abilities are being fully demonstrated by the United States of America, which is driving Europe into a deep crisis, both energy and food," Lavrov said.

According to the minister, the United States is forcing European countries to abandon cheap Russian energy resources and switch to purchasing more expensive American LNG. Lavrov noted that Europe could be one of the most affected parties in the event of a crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Minister pointed out that the budgets of European states are under additional strain due to the significant costs of supporting Ukraine. The Foreign Minister believes that Europe has already lost its independence, and the United States is currently actively using methods of pressure against its allies.

The United States is trying to remove Russian companies from global markets, including Africa and the Balkan Peninsula. The diplomat stated that the goal of the United States, which they do not hide, is to remove the Russian company PJSC Lukoil and the state corporation Rosneft from international business.
