Milorad Dodik, chairman of the Union of Independent Social Democrats of Republika Srpska, said on May 13 that he was receiving threats from Brussels because of his political views.

"My political importance has not disappeared, and the bureaucracy of Brussels and some European administrations do not like this. They relate to my work the same way they always do. Of course, I received threats and heard that I should not have come to Moscow," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to the politician, in Europe they are trying to change the meaning of Victory Day, replacing it with Europe Day. Dodik stressed that such pressure does not affect his position.

He also stated that Western countries are using political mechanisms and, in his opinion, non-existent laws to destabilize Republika Srpska. The politician noted that after consultations with allies, including Moscow, it was decided to hold presidential elections without his participation.

On May 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Russia's plans to continue cooperation with Republika Srpska. He noted that the parties have a common vision of history and the same approaches to the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Balkans and Europe. According to him, Russia and the RS stand for the formation of a just world order.
