Serbia has conducted joint military exercises with NATO countries for the first time in its history. This was announced on May 12 on the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.
"About 600 soldiers of the Serbian army and the armed forces of Italy, Romania and Turkey, as well as military planners and observers from the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Romania, the United States, Serbia, Turkey, France and Montenegro, are taking part in the exercises called NATO-Serbia," the statement said.
It is specified that the leadership of the training activities is carried out by the deputy commander of the third Army Brigade of Serbia, Colonel Branislav Stevanovic.
The exercises are held at the tactical level and will last until May 23. As a result, Serbian and NATO military personnel are expected to be able to "exchange experiences" and work out joint actions, the ministry said.

According to the command, the main purpose of the exercises is to practice tactical actions, increase interaction between allies and check the compatibility of alliance units in combat training conditions.
