What happened

The fire started in the building at Vernissazhnaya 6. According to the initial report, the roof of the building was engulfed in flames on an area of 200 square meters. m. In the evening of the same day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations began to eliminate the fire. Fire and rescue units were involved at the site.

Spreading fire

On the night of May 13, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire area had increased to 1 thousand square meters. m. At the same time, five people were rescued from the fire. 100 people and 30 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire on the spot. Two firefighting helicopters have also been put on alert. Later, drones were used to extinguish the fire. With their help, a reconnaissance of the burning object was carried out.

The firefighting forces involved at the site were increased to more than 140 people and 40 pieces of equipment, including 10 lifting mechanisms and a fire train. As a result, the fire was localized.

The building that caught fire houses the Stalin's Bunker Museum, as well as a playground for video game quests.

An eyewitness's comment

As an eyewitness, Kirill Nazarenko, an employee of the quest site, told Izvestia, the fire occurred from the warehouses that are located under the quests. He noted that all employees are trained in fire safety rules and people were evacuated from the building in a timely manner.
