The West seeks to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia and is working in Central Asia (CA) for the same purpose. This was announced on May 12 by Alexander Sternik, Director of the Third CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"They make no secret of their intention to inflict a 'strategic defeat' on Russia in the West and are working with our partners [in Central Asia] with approximately the same, slightly veiled goals," he said.
