The Foreign Ministry reported on the West's plans to turn Central Asia into a springboard for threats

Western countries consider the Central Asian region as a potential springboard against Russia and want to subjugate it. This was announced on April 12 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

"Today, the West does not give up trying to reformat this region for itself, provide access to its natural resources, and control the transport corridors running through it. He seeks to turn the Central Asian countries into a springboard for creating threats to Russia's security," he said, speaking at the Central Asian Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

Galuzin also noted that the only really functioning organization in Central Asia is the CSTO, which aims to ensure a multipolar world and an indivisible security system in Eurasia. The Deputy Minister also noted that Russia and its traditional partners in the region urgently need to jointly protect their interests and prevent the spread of external threats.

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said on April 28 that Russia considers the military presence of non-regional states in Central Asia unacceptable. He explained that the actions taken by the United States in the Asia-Pacific region also play a destructive role in the process described by him. Representatives of this country, in his opinion, are trying to reformat the regional security system, making it "American-centric."

The Deputy head of the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Reza Talai-Nika, said on the same day that his country was ready to share its experience of confrontation with Washington not only with Asian states, but also with all SCO members.
