Spring sowing started in Transbaikalia
Sowing of spring crops has begun in Transbaikalia. The first works started on the territory of the Priangunsky municipal district, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported on Tuesday, May 12.
According to the agency, Ruskit has sown grain crops on an area of 400 hectares, with a total plan of 7 thousand hectares. The Druzhba breeding plant will start work in the near future. The company plans to plant 3 thousand hectares.
According to the ChitaMedia news agency, the Priangunsky district accounts for about a quarter of all the cultivated areas of the region. Local farmers will have to sow spring crops on an area of 34.2 thousand hectares.
The total sowing of crops in Transbaikalia is planned on an area of 148 thousand hectares. A mass outflow of workers and equipment to the fields for spring sowing is expected this week.
Earlier it was reported that about 3 thousand units of agricultural machinery will be involved in spring field work in Transbaikalia. The sowing campaign will begin after May 10.
