The Ostankino court of Moscow has blocked access to a website where poisonous mushrooms were sold. The relevant information follows from the case materials reviewed by Izvestia.

It is specified that ads for the sale of dried fly agarics were posted on the site — anyone could buy mushrooms, regardless of age and place of residence.

The representative of the defendant argued that the use of fly agaric brings benefits to the body. The court explained that these mushrooms are inedible, and information about the sale of such products poses a threat to the life and health of citizens.

On May 1, lawyer Dmitry Grigoriev told Izvestia that collecting wild mushrooms for personal needs is generally legal in Russia, but rare species listed in the Red Book can be criminalized. Such punishment may be imposed for collecting specially protected species, such as matsutake.
