The lawyer spoke about the risks of blocking transfers between her own accounts

Transferring money between their own accounts, as a rule, does not raise questions from banks, however, sharp deviations from the usual financial behavior can lead to the blocking of the operation. Alla Georgieva, a civil lawyer, told the Prime agency about which transactions fall under suspicion.

"Financial organizations pay special attention to transaction chains, where the transfer itself serves only as an intermediate stage. If funds are credited to your account at another bank and money is immediately sent to a third party, the risk of blocking increases," Georgieva explained.

She noted that the key criterion here is the history of interaction with the recipient: if there have been no mutual settlements between the parties in the last six months, such a transfer will be classified as questionable.

The expert clarified that standard transfers between their accounts, as a rule, do not raise questions if they correspond to the usual amounts and time of operations. However, sudden deviations from normal behavior — for example, large transfers at atypical times — can be automatically detected as suspicious by the system and lead to a temporary suspension of funds until the circumstances are clarified.

Banks also pay attention to the source of funds and the nature of the client's transactions, the lawyer explained. If the origin of the money is confirmed by documents such as contracts, income certificates or information about the sale of property, even large transfers can be carried out without restrictions if there is a transparent financial history.

Alexander Khaminsky, head of the Law Enforcement Center in Moscow and the Moscow Region, said on May 7 that transferring money to a closed bank account usually does not lead to a loss of money. He clarified that such funds are usually not credited and are automatically returned to the sender. He noted that returns most often take from one to three business days, and when sent on weekends or holidays, the time may increase.
