It became known about the regions with the highest pensions in April

According to the latest data, the largest average pension size in Russia is recorded in five regions. This became known on May 12.

As TASS found out, in April 2026, the leaders in this indicator were Chukotka — 42.2 thousand rubles, Nenets Autonomous District — 38.8 thousand rubles, Kamchatka Territory — 37.5 thousand rubles, Magadan Region — 37.4 thousand rubles and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District — 37 thousand rubles.

At the same time, the average pension across the country in April 2026 was 25,397 rubles.

Why is the average payout lower now and what could change the situation?

RIA Novosti, citing data from the Russian Social Fund system, reported on May 10 that the average pension for federal government civil servants in Russia is more than 39.3 thousand rubles per month. The number of such pensioners is 97.8 thousand people. At the same time, working pensioners from among federal civil servants receive an average of 40,338.84 rubles. For non-employees, the payout amount is 39,272.73 rubles.
