Peskov called the necessary quality of an intermediary between Russia and Europe
Any figure can act as a mediator in the dialogue between the Russian Federation (RF) and Europe — the decisive factor will be the desire to facilitate the resumption of contacts. This was announced on May 12 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during a briefing.
"Now you can guess on the coffee grounds, list all the famous names. Anything can happen," RIA Novosti quoted the president's press secretary as saying.
This is how he reacted to the initiative of the ruling coalition of Germany to appoint President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as a negotiator from the European side with Moscow.
"The main thing is that there should be a political desire to restore dialogue," Peskov added.
The Russian side, he stressed, is open to dialogue if there is a corresponding attitude on the part of European partners.
