Polyansky stated that a number of OSCE countries ignore inconvenient facts about Ukraine

Some member States of the Organization for Security and Co—operation in Europe (OSCE) refuse to take into account inconvenient facts about the situation in Ukraine and do not allow discussion about the need for changes after the end of the active phase of the conflict. This was announced on May 12 by Dmitry Polyansky, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the organization.

"The Europeans simply do not allow any discussion that something will need to be changed in Ukraine after the end of the hot phase of the conflict. In their opinion, everything is going in the right direction in this country," he said.

Polyansky also spoke about an emotional conversation with a representative of one of the countries who accused Russia of intending to "erase the Ukrainian identity." In response, the permanent Representative asked the interlocutor about his attitude to possible discrimination based on language.

"You say that your native language is French, but it is not the dominant language in your country. What if you weren't allowed to speak your native language? If, for example, your children's phones were checked in the school locker room to see what language they communicate in?" the diplomat asked.

According to Polyansky, in response to the interlocutor's claim that this is protected by the Constitution in his country, he objected: in Ukraine, similar norms are also enshrined in the basic law, but discrimination continues.
