The truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Victory Day has expired. The ceasefire ended at 00:00 on the night of May 11-12.

At the end of April 2026, during a conversation with US President Donald Trump, the Russian leader proposed to introduce a temporary truce for the period of Victory Day celebrations. The initiative was supported by the American side.
