Rublev and Medvedev got into the draw at the tennis Masters in Italy
Russian first and second rackets Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev became participants in the draw at the ATP Masters tournament in Rome, during which an "invaluable" antique vase broke during an interview with athletes. The prank video was posted on the account of the tournament on the social network X on May 11 (ex. Twitter).
The initiators of the draw were Belgian tennis player Zizou Bergs, who completed his participation in the Masters after the first round, and actress Marit Nissen, who plays the role of an archaeologist.
According to the scenario, the archaeologist and the tennis players were supposed to take a joint photo near an allegedly ancient vessel discovered on the site of modern courts. At one point, Nissen accidentally hits a vase, and it falls, breaking. Later, the athletes were told that it was a prank and the vessel was of no value.
Hearing this, Medvedev and Rublev laughed with relief.
Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev reached the third round of the Masters tournament in the Italian capital on May 9. In the second round of the competition, the 28-year-old athlete, seeded at number 12, beat 26-year-old Serb Miomir Ketsmanovic. The match ended with the score 6:4, 6:4.
Before that, on the same day, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev reached the third round of the Masters tournament in Rome. He was scheduled to face Czech Tomas Machac in the second round.
