- The Iranian Foreign Ministry revealed details of the response to the US proposal on the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's response to the US proposals to resolve the conflict includes demands to end the naval blockade, ensure the passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and unfreeze the assets of the Islamic Republic. This was announced on May 11 by the representative of the country's Foreign Ministry, Esmail Bagai, during a press conference.
"We did not demand any concessions. The only thing we demanded was Iran's legitimate rights," the ISNA news agency quoted him as saying.
Bagai stressed that these requirements are not excessive. He noted with regret that Israeli-imposed views on resolving the conflict prevail in Washington, so the United States continues to insist on unreasonable conditions. This is how Bagai commented on the words of American leader Donald Trump about Iran's unacceptable response to the diplomatic proposals of the United States.
On May 5, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the American operation Epic Fury against Iran has been completed. Later, Trump announced the suspension of the Freedom Project mission in the Strait of Hormuz to find out whether the conflicting parties would be able to sign an agreement.
The US Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Mike Waltz, announced on May 10 that Trump was ready to resume diplomacy with Iran, despite the fact that the parties continue to exchange blows.
