Pop stars will enter the rock ring in the new show "Salt. The legend"
The honest and powerful energy of Russian rock will turn the world of pop music upside down with a powerful sound wave. Pop stars will take part in a daring experiment. REN TV is preparing a high-profile premiere: the project "Salt. Legend" will test the strength of famous artists who will have to try on an unusual role for themselves. This was reported on May 11 by correspondent Alexandra Mostovaya.
"The battle of voices and talents is unfolding on this stage. Famous rock hits sound in a completely new interpretation. This sincerity of the artists is the whole force that catches the audience from the very first minutes," said Mostovaya.
The first edition of Rock Battle will take place on May 15 on the TV channel, as well as on the VK Video platform. In addition, a contest will be held in the VKontakte community, where viewers will receive exclusive prizes. The main thing will be a guitar with autographs of rock icons and stars of the jury.
This is where pop stars step out of their creative comfort zone. The cult hit of the band "Aria" performed by Polina Gagarina: it would seem that it was not her genre, but on this project the singer decided on a bold experiment. Irina Dubtsova is on stage, and Vadim Samoilov, the leader of Agatha Christie, is on the jury.
Singer Klava Coca will try to rethink the band's hit "Dancing Minus" — it has never been heard before. The stage has turned into a musical ring, where two artists or two groups enter. Three rounds, no concessions.
The music blows up the hall. The participants perform a legendary rock hit, present stylized versions of their own songs and make covers of the compositions of the jury members.
"Many musicians are old enough to be my children, Klava Coca is like a daughter. I like it when people do things their own way, when it becomes their song," said Vadim Samoilov, founder and leader of the Agatha Christie group.
The artists are on edge: someone is trying to hide the trembling in their hands, but the microphone gives everything away.
"I was saving it right in front of the track itself. It's probably even good, because the emotions are real, and it's cool," admitted rap artist Alexei Norkitovich (Lesha Svik).
Together with Vadim Samoilov, the jury includes producer and composer Viktor Drobysh, rapper ST, as well as star guests: Yulia Savicheva, singer MONA, Sergey Bobunets ("Semantic Hallucinations"), Basta and others.
"Vadim is strict in business, everyone respects him. Viktor Yakovlevich does not go into his pocket for a word, I am responsible for the show, emotions and the heart. And our invited guest is just shocked by everything that is happening," said rap artist, poet, and TV presenter ST (Alexander Stepanov).
Among the participants are Lucy Chebotina, Mary Gu, Lesha Svik, Victoria Daineko, Denis Klyaver, the Uma2rman group. The bold rock versions of their songs sound bold, unexpected and in a new way.
A pavilion with professional lighting and perfect acoustics was built from scratch for the show. Kilowatts of sound create the effect of total immersion. The program is completed by freshmen, young performers whose journey to the musical Olympus is just beginning.

The host of the show, Stas Yarushin, said on May 6 that the new REN TV project "Salt. Legend" will be a great start for many pop stars who want to go beyond their role. The participants will perform legendary Russian rock hits ("Aria", "Cinema", "Agatha Christie" and others), as well as remake their song and a composition by one of the jury members in the same style.
