Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces evacuated residents from one of the settlements near the front line

Military personnel of the 186th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 29th army of the Vostok group of forces evacuated civilians from one of the settlements near the line of contact in the area of the special military operation. This was announced on May 11 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

For a long time, people took refuge in the basements of destroyed houses, as it was impossible to stay in their homes. The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) regularly used unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to destroy civilian infrastructure.

"I want to thank the very good people, the wonderful people who helped with the evacuation from our village, because it is impossible to drive or walk away from drones. <...> I am so grateful to them. Thanks to [the serviceman with the call sign] Bidonchik, who took us out on his ATV under fire," said civilian Tatiana Alexandrova.

The ministry noted that the operation to remove the civilian population was carefully planned: the military personnel created a safe corridor, provided first aid to citizens, and then led them out of the combat zone. According to Alexandrova, the team of a soldier with the call sign Berkut helped them get to a safe area.

"We organized an evacuation group, took the civilians, as it were, transported them to the next point. The evacuation group has changed there, yes, and they have already been taken to a safe place. Literally two days. It was planned to be there for maybe three days," said a senior management officer with the call sign Maestro.

It is clarified that the evacuation was complicated by the constant use of reconnaissance and attack drones by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. To ensure the safety of people, Russian military personnel used motorized vehicles and electronic warfare (EW) equipment to suppress unmanned aircraft.

The soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out the task successfully and safely for the residents. Upon arrival at the safe zone, they were provided with clean clothes, hot meals and qualified medical care.
