Relations between Russia and Japan are in a state of "ice age" and are experiencing an unprecedented decline for the entire post-war era. This opinion was expressed on Monday, May 11, by Russian Ambassador to Tokyo Nikolai Nozdryov.

"We are experiencing a recession unprecedented for the entire post—war era — if I may say so, a deep "ice age" in bilateral relations," the diplomat said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the agency's interlocutor, this situation has developed due to Tokyo's decision to support anti-Russian sanctions. Nozdryov stressed that the Japanese authorities went along with Western countries following an anti-Russian course.
