Ukrainian hackers have switched to a "scorched earth" tactic and began to completely destroy the data of Russian companies during cyber attacks. Experts informed Izvestia about this on May 10.

If earlier the effect of attacks was rather demonstrative, now their goal is to inflict maximum damage. The motives for the complete destruction of data can be different: from digital vandalism and sabotage to the shutdown of business processes.

It is noted that the leaders among cyber threats that caused business disruptions were encryption viruses (44%) and vipers (32%), which completely destroy data.

Artur Lyukmanov, Special Representative of the President of Russia for International cooperation in the field of information security, Director of the Department of International Information Security of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said on April 27 that Russian competent authorities are ready to counter digital threats emanating from Ukraine, including during the upcoming State Duma elections in September. According to Lyukmanov, Russian specialists primarily rely on domestic capabilities in the field of information security.
