CNN announced an increase in the US Armed Forces reconnaissance flights off Cuba
The US military has increased the number of reconnaissance flights off the coast of Cuba since February. This follows from an analysis of publicly available aviation data, which CNN provided on May 10.
"The number of reconnaissance flights by the US military off the coast of Cuba has increased dramatically," the article says.
The TV channel cited data from the FlightRadar24 web service, according to which, since February 4, the US Air Force and the US Navy have conducted at least 25 reconnaissance flights using manned aircraft and drones.
As noted in the publication, such flights were extremely rare before this period.
The Associated Press (AP) reported on May 8 that the United States does not intend to invade Cuba, Washington is not considering such an option, despite repeated threats. It is clarified that the options for military intervention remain in force and the head of the White House, Donald Trump, can change his mind at any time.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said on May 6 that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statements about the absence of an oil embargo against Cuba were untrue and at odds with the position of the White House. Havana noted that only one shipment of fuel had been delivered in four months, and suppliers were facing pressure.
