Another powerful flare has occurred in a new active region on the Sun, but this time no consequences are expected for the Earth. This was announced on May 10 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"Wow, that's an explosion. Just in the Sun. An M5.7 flare in the new active region 4436 that emerged from the far side of the Sun," the laboratory's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the plasma released as a result of the outbreak will not touch the Ground. However, in two days such a group of spots will enter the zone of influence on the planet, and will have its effect if the outbreaks continue.

On May 7, the Institute of Applied Geophysics reported that a strong flare of class M2.6 lasting 70 minutes occurred on the Sun. According to the institute, solar flare activity is low: five Class C flares and five Class B bursts have been recorded. Forecast for May 7 and 8: flare activity will remain mostly low, Class M flares are possible, the geomagnetic field is expected to be calm on May 7 with occasional periods of instability, and unstable on May 8.
