The Moscow Arbitration Court has accepted the application of blogger Ilya Varlamov (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent, listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring), who is challenging the decision to hold him accountable for intentional tax evasion. This follows from the court documents, which were reviewed by Izvestia on May 10.

On the same day, it was reported that the Federal Tax Service (FTS) had prosecuted the blogger for intentionally failing to pay taxes for 13 million rubles.

"The Arbitration Court <... I have determined to accept the statement of claim and initiate proceedings on the case," the article says.

The case file states that the preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 7, 2026.

Varlamov himself believes that the fine of 13 million rubles was charged unlawfully. The Federal Tax Service claims that the blogger deliberately evaded taxes. Because of this, his accounts were blocked, she explained. "Газета.Ru ".

Currently, Varlamov has no operating business in Russia, but he retains the status of an individual entrepreneur and continues to engage in advertising.

The accounts of blogger Dani Milokhin, who had previously moved to Dubai, were blocked due to non-payment of taxes. As it was clarified on April 10, the reason for the blocking of accounts was the debt in the amount of 50,926 rubles. The restrictions were introduced on March 30 and affected seven accounts of the popular author in social networks at once.
