Nikita Khaykin, goalkeeper of the Norwegian club Bude-Glimt, on May 9 for the first time commented on the information about the ban of the International Football Federation (FIFA) to play for the Norwegian national team.

"I've had a tough week, which many people talk about, but I'm trying not to lose my head. I know who I am: I am a good person and a good football player. I will do everything in my power for Norway and Buda-Glimt," the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) quoted him as saying.

On April 10, NRK reported that Haikin had become a Norwegian citizen. It is noted that he is married to a Norwegian woman and has been living in Bodo since 2019. At the same time, in November last year, the goalkeeper announced his desire to play for the Norwegian national team at the 2026 World Cup.
