Ushakov: Putin has repeatedly said that he is ready to meet with Zelensky in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly spoken about his readiness to hold a meeting with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, if he requests negotiations. This was announced on Saturday, May 9, by the assistant to the Russian leader, Yuri Ushakov.

"Well, these are old signals that were transmitted through many people, including through [American leader Donald] Trump. And our president replied several times that if he wanted to, please let him call Moscow, we are ready to receive and negotiate. Let him call. What he transmits, and then everything hangs in the air," Ushakov said.

In addition, the Russian presidential aide noted that the Russian side hopes that Trump will be able to discipline the Ukrainian side so that it respects the truce until May 11.

The agreements were reached with the mediation of the United States, in addition to the cease-fire, there will also be an exchange of prisoners.

In a conversation with Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky, the Russian presidential aide noted that there were no agreements yet on the further extension of the truce between Russia and Ukraine, which Trump had mentioned.

On May 8, the American leader expressed hope that a truce between Russia and Ukraine could begin to end the conflict. Trump added that at the designated time, on his initiative, a three-day cease-fire (May 9, 10 and 11) would be observed between Moscow and Kiev.
