Putin: holding a referendum on Armenia's cooperation with the EU is logical

On May 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed the opinion that it would be advisable to organize a referendum in Armenia on the development of cooperation with the European Union (EU) in order to find out the real opinion of the country's population on this issue.

"It would be quite logical. To hold a referendum and ask the citizens of Armenia what their choice will be," he said.

According to the Russian leader, in accordance with this, Russia would have drawn the appropriate conclusions and would have followed the path of a "gentle, intelligent and mutually beneficial divorce."
