In Moscow, the broadcast of the Victory Day Parade on May 9 was shown on more than 34,000 media screens in the metro and surface urban transport. The live broadcast of the main event of the day was available to passengers of the metro, trams, buses and electric buses, and for the first time in the salons of suburban routes of the Moscow Region project. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
"We strive to make trips in Moscow transport not only comfortable, but also interesting. Live broadcasts of significant events have become our good tradition. We have been showing the Victory Day Parade live since 2019. This year, more than 270 thousand people watched it during their trips," Liksutov said.
According to the transport complex, more than 160 thousand people saw the broadcast in the subway cars, which is 8% higher than last year. Over 110,000 more viewers joined the broadcast in urban land transport.
In addition, from May 8 to May 14, passengers will have access to a thematic broadcast dedicated to the history of Victory Day. The program includes materials about the role of the Moscow Metro during the Great Patriotic War, as well as stories about stations whose design is related to the theme of Victory, such as Novokuznetsk and Taganskaya.
Passengers are also told about the monuments to the participants of the Great Patriotic War, including the obelisk "Moscow — hero City". The educational program is complemented by thematic videos prepared by Moscow Transport partners for Victory Day.
