Military personnel of the Southern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the occasion of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) dropped thousands of congratulatory leaflets over the positions of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Izvestia publishes footage of this operation on May 9.

"May 9 is the Day of the Great Victory! <...> Soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! 81 years ago, your ancestors defeated fascism together with us. Today you are being forced to fight against Russia and the memory of your grandfathers. May 9th is a sacred day. Do not desecrate him," the text of the messages says.

The colorful flyers were distributed using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In addition to congratulations, they contain recommendations for surrender and security guarantees for everyone.

Meanwhile, the Victory Day Parade ended in Moscow, where veterans and foreign leaders were among the guests. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who delivered a speech at the event, pointed out Russia's refusal to divide Victory into its own and someone else's.
