Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on May 8.
"Taking into account the significant contribution of Gabdulla Tukai to the national culture and in connection with the 150th anniversary of his birth in 2036, I decree: to hold events in 2036 dedicated to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Gabdulla Tukai," the decree says.
The Government was instructed to create an organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the celebration, approve its composition, and develop and approve a plan of major events. The state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local governments are recommended to take part in the preparation and holding of anniversary events.
On February 11, Putin signed a decree on celebrating the 90th anniversary of the birth of film director Stanislav Govorukhin in 2026. According to the decree, an organizing committee has been formed to prepare and hold the anniversary event. Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma, was appointed its chairman. The composition of the organizing committee has also been approved.
