Putin named Saransk airport after pilot Mikhail Devyataev
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree naming Saransk International Airport after famous pilot Mikhail Devyataev. The relevant order was published on May 8 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"I decree that the Saransk International Airport be named after Mikhail Petrovich Devyataev," the decree says.
On March 30, Putin signed a decree awarding the title of Hero of the Russian Federation posthumously to Soviet pilot Nikolai Terekhin, a participant in the Great Patriotic War. Since 1941, Terekhin was on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.
