Slutsky called Moscow's agreement to the truce a step towards Washington.

The extension of the truce in Ukraine from May 9 to 11 is Russia's step towards the American side, which has made a corresponding proposal. This was announced on May 8 by Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party.

"Extending the truce from the Russian side until May 11 is a truly unprecedented humanitarian step, especially against the background of Zelensky's rudeness and new terrorist attacks by Bandera against civilians," he said during an interview with RIA Novosti.
